I finally got Ash's portfolio ready to be evaluated by the evaluator. We go monday night the 30th of may. On our way home from my parents we are spending Memorial weekend with my family. We came a day earlier cuz last week we had nasty storms come through where we live, and we were left without electric for about 24 hrs straight which was about when we got it all back. But we had left before our house got power back. So tomorrow night we stop and get Ash evaluated since its about on our way home. Then I will have to wait for the report to come in the mail and then it goes to the school admin. to be examined. I have til the 30th of june to hand in her portfolio. Then I have to get the affidavit to the school for the next year. I have til Aug 1st to hand in the materail they need for the next year, but i usually hand that all in when i hand in portfolio, so i dont make extra trips when i dont have too, I am already gettting my brain ready for 7th grade, I can't believe I will be teaching a 7th grade. She grows to fast for me and her daddy.
My baby juat turned 12 on the 21st, and she got her ears pirced, even tho she was afraid to have them do it but she really wanted them done, Ash is becoming quite the young lady, and shes our only one we have. i wouldve liked to have had more but it wasn't God's plan for us to have anymore.
I oray I am doing what i need to do to teach this gift God gave us. Ash sure is a miracle and a blessing from above. God entrusted my hubby and I with the precious gift of a child, Ash has been our pride and joy. I trust the Lord for giving me the knowledge to teach her, and as long as i have it in my heart to keep homeschooling i will. When the Lord tells me not to i wont but as of right now the Lord is telling me what I am doing is what He wants me to. And i pray i do well with doing this....
the verse inthe Bible that comes to mind writing this is,,,,,, Train up a child in the way he should go, when he becomes old he will not depart from it Proverbs 22:6
I am a 35 yr old wife and mommy. my family means the world to me do anything for them..... i love to homeschool Ashley. I love hanging out my hubby and daughter. I am still homeschooling Ashley despite fighting thyroid cancer which has been hard but still want to homeschool

DONE FOR THE YEAR!!!!!
April 21st was out last day of school for the year. Now its time to get her portfolio ready, and meet up with her evaluator around June. I'm glad it's over my brain feels fried. Ashley gets a break til July 11th then we start again, but I dont get a break, I have to get ready for 7th grade UGH!
I can't believe I will be homeschooling a 7th grader!!!!!! Time sure does fly by fast. She is growing up way fast for this momma. I must be doing something right she is smart with her reading and language skills, but her math well could use some help lol but she dont like math. she only remembers what she wants to remember, and those that are in her intrests , but glad she is a better reading than i was.
I am hoping to be able to school her through high school, guess I'll have to see how 7th goes. I wasn't all that good in school. But with God's help I will. I just love this verse and it goes along with me homeschooling..................Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

homeschooling
Well I've been homeschooling now for 7yrs and still can't believe I am a homeschool mom. My daughter will be finishing up 6th grade in April. And this mommy can't wait. My brain feels fried with all of the education I have to put in my brain again to teacher her. With God's help I am going to try and teacher 7th grade with her I only pray I do ok!
It has been a blessing for me to teacher my daughter at home, where she can take her time and really learn what she needs to learn. Not like at school where there is one pace and those who have trouble are left behind or sent to a "help class" which is embarrassing enough, and the kids all pick on those kids who are sent out of the classroom. I know I was one of them.
God has blessed me with a great kid, she reads very well, and likes to read (unlike her momma) but her math is something to be desired. I was the opposite I loved math and hated reading lol. And God has put it in my heart to homeschool her. At first I was not willing to homeschool her my husband wanted her to be homeschooled, and so I tried one year and fell in love with it, and been doing it since, and it never crosses my mind to ever sent her to a school.
I don't care what people say about "shes not socializing enough". I became anti-social from going to school. She socializes just fine, a whole lot better than i ever did and do. People can have their own opinion about homeschooling, but if it works with our family and its what God wants us to do, people should respect our chioce and I'll respect their opinion on it. We are doing what we think is best for our daughter, and I will homeschool til the Lord tells me that He wants me to send her to a school. well God bless you all !
